Originally from Argentina, Silvia Stubbs moved to the United States with a dream and a tireless work ethic. Starting her journey as a nanny, she mastered English and worked her way through school, eventually earning a Master’s degree from Utah State University. For over 20 years, she has dedicated her life to education and community development in San Juan County, proving that with faith and hard work, anything is possible.

Dedicated over three decades to USU Blanding, helping thousands of local students achieve their academic goals. Silvia pioneered essential support services, including campus-based childcare, making higher education accessible for working families across the county.

As a County Commissioner and member of the Seven County Infrastructure Coalition, Silvia tirelessly advocates for clean drinking water, improved road safety, and expanded emergency communication towers to protect our rural way of life.
